Playing number path games helps children develop an intuitive sense of number. They're starting to see that whole numbers are ordered, and spaced equally, along the number line. As children play, ask questions! For example, "Who rolled more? How many more did you roll? How many more lily pads does your frog have to jump on to get to the pond?"
